A Little Dexter love

In the show dexter, he uses his own fake blood and tools of murder to try and replicate the blood spatter at crime scenes. This game me an awesome idea. Why not do the same thing to a big piece of canvas. So I played with the first two, used different knifes and other sorts of destruction to see the different effects you can get. So I ended up using a carving knife, a a butchers knife/cleaver, and your standard steak/sharp knife. The cleaver was the most fun, it let me get the big pool of blood in the middle because of it's fat surface area. I let the paint sit on the top of it and hit it into the canvas and let it drip down off it, you can see that in the middle. So on the final piece I did my best, mixed different reds and attacked the board with slashes and stabs. Sorry if the quality is not so good, bad lighting in my tv room, so I can't seem to get a bright enough picture.

Finally the signature, is also glossy, I used a hot glue gun and free handed the name DEXTER onto it and painted over it, leaving the blood on his name shiny so it looks like it's still wet. Also lucky for me, the back wall in my entertainment room is red so It didn't need a frame, it just blended in perfect. There's nothing more fun than acting like a deranged serial killer at 2am :)
